When an objection is detected, a coaching card appears in the intel panel on the right side of your screen with a brief cyan glow — visible in your peripheral vision without demanding your attention. A headline, three concrete response lines, and a short rationale. You can absorb what you need in a two-second glance and keep the conversation going. The prospect has no idea you had help.
CloseCombat listens to the AI prospect's speech and matches patterns to the objection library pre-loaded for your scenario. The moment a pattern lands — "we're already using something similar," "I need to loop in my CFO," "the timing isn't right," "send me something and I'll review it" — the card fires. Detection latency is roughly two seconds after the prospect finishes speaking. Fast enough to be useful without feeling like a delay.
Each coaching card shows the objection type as a headline, a verbatim italic quote of what the prospect just said, and three numbered response lines written in first-person language you can adapt directly. Below the lines is a short rationale explaining why this approach works at this pipeline stage. It's not abstract coaching advice — it's language that fits in your next sentence, ready to use.
Not everyone wants to split attention mid-call. Pause Mode freezes the AI prospect entirely — they stop talking — while you read the coaching card without any other stimulus. Think of it as training wheels with a purpose. The goal isn't to depend on it forever — it's to get reps handling objections with the right frameworks until the response becomes automatic. Most reps phase it out naturally as their scores improve.
What if the wrong card fires?
If the keyword match is off, just ignore it. The card auto-dismisses in 45 seconds. False positives happen occasionally — the matching is keyword-based, not semantic. The Assist cards are most reliable for the common objection patterns (pricing, competitor, timing, stakeholder) which are also the ones reps freeze on most.
Can I edit the coaching cards?
Coaching cards are pre-generated by the AI when you set up your session based on the objections in your persona's profile. They're not manually editable in the current version.
Does this work during Pause mode too?
Yes. Pause Mode freezes the call and shows you the full coaching card in the panel without any time pressure. You read at full attention, then resume. Whisper and Pause are different delivery modes for the same underlying coaching intelligence.
